All hydrosols (flower waters) are made differently. Katari Geran is a single-ingredient moisturizing flower water made out of geranium stems, leaves, and flowers.

It is not a mixture of geranium oil, water and alcohol, but a small batch vapor-distilled artisanal flower water. Our flower water is not certified organic. We are using geranium plants that grew wild in the warm sun and fertile soils of the Mediterranean Tunisia.

The process of taking care of the plants is as ancient and beautiful as this mighty hydrating flower water.

Sourcing & Production

In the foothills of Beja in beautiful Mediterranean Tunisia, there is a group of artisans who are obsessed with the ancient method of creating the most decadent flower water - vapor-distillation. Geranium plants (stems, leaves and flowers) are collected and submerged in the clean, cold water.

It is a very precise science with ratio of plant mass to water, temperature, condensation, all equipment parts, cooling, collecting - everything is important.

This is why Wafa and Amin who make the water hold Masters and Ph.D. degrees in distillation and processes.

Geranium flower water does not a flowery scent. It is a versatile and very soothing skincare staple for all beauty professionals.

Benefits of Geranium Flower Water

Light antiseptic properties in geranium hydrosol help heal skin from bruising and scratches 

Perfect after some med spa procedures to cool down red, irritated skin and sooth it from inflammation

Geranium is very moisturizing, used together (before) a moisturizing oil like jojoba oil, it will hydrate and protect skin

Geranium flower water helps reduce odors and can be used instead of a deodorant (can be sprayed and massaged into body parts that can be smelly and sweaty - feet, armpits, etc.

Geranium plant has been always known to help balance skin irritation and redness related to hormonal imbalances and hot flashes

Uses of Geranium Flower Water

For kids and anyone with skin: on bruises, scrapes and dry, red and irritated skin (after shave, after a wax, after a peel).

For acneic skin: cleanse face with Hoba oil and then follow with Geranium water as it is anti-inflammatory and will help with breakouts and acne and will hydrate skin; then put some more Hoba on top while skin is still wet to lock the moisture and benefits of skin healing geranium.

For ladies: hormonal imbalances, hot flashes and overall stress, or just redness after chemical peels, waxing or any other procedures - Geran to the rescue. Spray or massage it in. Combine Geran and Argil in a body wrap masque to reduce cellulite and boost blood circulation.

For gents: use it instead of an after shave and try it under armpits and to reduce odor and sweat in other parts of the body :).

Please store away from direct sun.

Shelf life

Please use your geranium water within a year of receiving it to assure it is the freshest hydrosol you can use. Though geranium water does not go bad (it is distilled like fragrances, so it is truly have no expiration date) we still suggest to keep fresh stock of your favorite flower water.

Warning

Very few people are allergic (have personal insensitivities) to geranium plant. It is suggested to do a skin patch test with ALL natural ingredients just in case. We have never seen a reaction to geranium water and we use our geranium water in making of Turkish coffee, cookies, fruit salads and of course, on our skin and hair.
