One powerful ingredient

The only ingredient in Katari rose water is rose petals. Essense of rose is extracted from the petals with steam (purified water).

Rose petals are source of Vitamins A, C, B and E. Rose water as ingredient is transformational for health of skin, balancing of pH, tightening pores and smoothing wrinkles.

Sourcing & Production

In the foothills of Beja in beautiful Mediterranean Tunisia, there is a group of artisans who are obsessed with the ancient method of creating the most decadent flower water - vapor-distillation.

During just a few weeks a year, fresh rose petals are gathered from huge fields of roses around Tunisia and brought here to become Katari rose water. It takes over 5 kg or petals to make just 1 liter of rose water. It is a ton of petals. Petals are submerged in water, heated up and when steam starts collecting, drop by drop flower water is born.

It is a very precise science with temperature, condensation, all equipment parts, cooling, collecting - everything is important. This is why Wafa and Amin who make the water hold Masters and Ph.D. degrees in distillation and processes.

Uses of Rose Flower Water

Rose water is quite versatile. It is a great add-on to facial masques, great mixed in with a carrier oil like Hoba (jojoba) to cleanse skin and remove makeup. It soothes skin and dry scalp - if massaged into roots of hair. Spraying on rose water on skin and massaging it in will help both to tone and refresh skin and actually sets makeup too.

We use rose water daily for pretty much everything - starting with the morning routine after shower spraying the toner on skin and adding a moisturizing oil (Hoba or Rosehip or Barie - listed here in order of anti-aging magnitude). Massage the oil in before rose water dries up to help retain the moisture and enhance oil's benefits.

Shelf life

Please use your rose water within a year of receiving it to assure it is the freshest hydrosol you can use. Though rose water does not go bad (it is distilled like fragrances, so it is truly have no expiration date) we still suggest to keep fresh stock of your favorite flower water.

Warning

Very few people are allergic (have personal insensitivities) to rose petals / rose water. It is suggested to do a skin patch test with ALL natural ingredients just in case. We have never seen a reaction to rose water and we use our rose water in lemonades, cookies, fruit salads and of course, on our skin and hair.

Secret Weapon

I take this toner everywhere- the beautiful glass for home and work at the Brow salon, and the sturdy 2 oz in my purse and makeup kit. I underestimated the dryness of the climate on a movie set and hadn't brought proper foundation! eek! but i was able to keep everyone looking good by misting Roseau in between takes- smells great and really hydrates.

I cannot believe how effective this is at tightening my pores! I have combination skin with enlarged pores on my nose, so I use this on my t-zone. I wish I switched over years ago because my skin texture of my nose is way more even now. Highly recommend for oily skin and oily t-zones
